The 2021 Census counted 2,609 people in Catherine Field. The suburb has a pre-school, a cricket oval and a community hall, and it had a post office from 1 July 1963 until 1996. In the 1980s it was home to a theme park called El Caballo Blanco. Around it, everything is being built: Leppington 2.5 kilometres north east with fifty four estates, Gledswood Hills 2.5 south, Oran Park 3.5 west with twelve, Barker 4.1 north west, Gregory Hills 4.5 south and Denham Court 4.6 east. Catherine Field is the quiet middle of a very loud corridor, and that will not last.

Will Catherine Field be built out like its neighbours?

The land use planning for the corridor is a council and state question rather than ours. What we can say is that every suburb around it has gone that way.

Do you travel here for one inspection?

Yes, and there is no travel charge inside the Camden and Macarthur area. A small suburb does not get a smaller service.

Why do findings repeat across the corridor?

Because the same builders and largely the same trades move between these suburbs. A finding in Leppington usually turns up in Oran Park, which is why photographs from there are useful here as long as we say where they came from.
